Artistic Journey

Drawing from her rich multicultural heritage and global journey, this mixed-media artist creates vibrant works that bridge contemporary folk art with impressionistic techniques, infused with indigenous influences from her Bidayuh roots in Borneo. Born in Kuching, Sarawak to an English father and Bidayuh mother, her artistic vision has been shaped by a life lived across continents – from the bustling streets of Hong Kong and Singapore to the serene landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.

Her creative expression flows seamlessly between visual and musical arts. Working primarily with acrylic paint on canvas and wood, she creates pieces that echo the rhythmic nature of her musical endeavors. As an accomplished multi-instrumentalist proficient in guitar, violin, piano, djembe, didgeridoo, conch shell, and bass guitar, she brings a unique sense of harmony and rhythm to her visual compositions.

Her musical journey has left its own distinct mark, including the release of her album "Acoustic Vibrations" – a collection of original compositions that earned recognition from Reno Arttown with a prestigious grant. Her musical collaborations include work with notable artists such as Dwight Richards on "Sittin' by the Seashore." Her artistic talents emerged early – at age 10, she won the Black History Poetry Competition, with her winning poem honored at the Martin Luther King dinner hall.

Whether through paint or melody, her work reflects a lifetime of cultural exploration and artistic discovery, bringing together elements from her native Borneo heritage, global travels, and contemporary artistic sensibilities.
